Ambassador program for youth under 16 years of age

For those interested in volunteering under the age of 16 we encourage you to become a part of the Ranch Hand Rescue Ambassador program. This program was designed to recruit RHR Ambassadors who assist in spreading our message and well as help with fundraising initiatives and help at fundraising events. Ambassadors are required to be certified and take the Ranch Hand Rescue Pledge. RHR Ambassadors have held, car washes, sold raffle tickets, set up lemonade stands, garage sales as well as held fundraisers for RHR in their school. RHR Ambassadors are critical to the growth of our organization and play a vital role in our development.

Volunteering Opportunities:

Ranch hands

Our on-site volunteer program is designed to bring people that have a deep love and respect for animals together with animals that need love and respect. Through a series of hands-on experiences, our hope is that volunteers will acquire the knowledge to interact with all of our animals in a positive manner.

You’ll find that we are very specific about animal care. During the hot, muggy days of summer and on the miserable, bitter cold days of winter, the animals still need to be fed, the water buckets filled, the paddocks cleaned and the medications given. If you say you’ll be here, we’re counting on you!

Please understand that at no time will you be directly working with the horses. The risks are too great for both the volunteers and the fragile animals in our care. The volunteer ranch hands are asked to help with cleaning of stalls and pastures as well as general farm needs such as corral building, fence mending and pen adjustments.

Days/hours available for ranch hand volunteers are:

Tuesdays 8am-12pm
Thursdays 8am-12pm
Saturdays 8am-12pm

Fundraising

Ranch Hand Rescue can’t survive without donations. It is our biggest need right now! We desperately need assistance with fundraising and off-site activities. Can you help us? Here are some ideas, but we are open to more, so be creative!

  • Set up at table in front of a grocery store
  • Put a change jar in your business

We will supply you with banners, story boards, and donation jars. First, make sure you are approved as a Volunteer using the forms below. Then contact us at let us know what you would like to do, when, and what you need in an email to bob@ranchhandrescue.org.

It is critical that we maintain a good stream of donation income in order to maintain the high standard of care for our residents. You can make a difference by working with us to help raise money. Help us Help them.

Construction and yard work

With so many acres and so many buildings, there are always plenty of construction opportunities and more than enough yard work to go around! We want to keep our animal homes in tip-top shape and want to ensure that our grounds are appealing to visitors. If you have a green thumb or are great at swinging a hammer, this is the job for you!

Join us!

  1. Begin by downloading and completing the  Volunteer Application and Talents form.
  2. Scan and email the completed application to bob@ranchhandrescue.org. or fax is to 940-464-3322.
